  9. GM_SETUP.MID - SMF containg all 16 parameters for GM Setup in a SMF
  10. GM_SYSEX.MID - SYSEX String for "GM on" within an SMF
  11. GSDSYSEX.MID - SYSEX String for GS second drum kit on Ch 11 in SMF
  12. GS_SYSEX.MID - SYSEX string for "GS on"within an SMF
  13. MCSYSEX.TXT  - Detailed doc about GM and GS SYSEX parameters

  17. This archive contains  4  x  Standard  MIDI  Files  (SMF)  and a useful
  18. reference doc for System Exclusive (SYSEX)  strings  for both GM and GS
  19. synths.. The  "GM_SETUP.MID"  contains  all  information  for  16  MIDI
  20. channels data for Bank select, Program, Pan, Reverb, Chorus and 0 Pitch
  21. bend.. It also contains the "GM on" SYSEX string "70 7F 09 01 F7" which
  22. forces an external GM synth to go  into  GM mode (works ith the Korg i-
  23. Series GM facility in the song  mode..  This is a useful template which
  24. you can load into you computer  based sequencer when constructing songs
  25. using the  i-Series  Workstation  via  MIDI  and  you  wish  to produce
  26. General MIDI (GM) compatible SMF files..

  28. The "GM_SYSEX.MID" contains only the  "70  7F  09  01  F7" GM on string
  29. which when transimited to your i-Series Workstation, it will respond by
  30. setting the internal 16-track sequencer to  song  #9 in GM state.. This
  31. is useful for playing GM Standard  MIDI Files (SMF) from your Sequencer
  32. or SMF player via MIDI  to  the  i-Series  Workstation.. You can import
  33. this SYSEX string in an empty  track  in your computer based sequencing
  34. software and then save your  newly  constructed  song which when played
  35. will set the i-Series Workstation to respond in "GM mode"..

  37. The 2GSDSYSEX.MID" is the 2nd drum option for the GS protocol which can
  38. be emulated from the i-Series  Workstations  is  note  data on Ch 11 is
  39. remapped to use the GM Standard  drum  map.. Again this can be imported
  40. into an empty track in your software based sequencer..

  42. The "GS_SYSEX.MID" is an SMF containing  the  "GS on" for GS compatible
  43. synths. If you create an SMF from a Korg i-Series Workstation and would
  44. like to produce a  compatibe  GS  version  then  this SYSEX string will
  45. enable you to do this by  importing  this  into  an empty track in your
  46. software sequencer and then  exporting  the  complete  SMF  with the GS
  47. SYSEX string embedded..

  49. The "SYSEX.TXT" is an ASCII text doc which provides a detailed list and
  50. explanations of some  GM  and  GS  SYSEX  strings,  useful for referece
  51. purposes..
